That time we did that thing we always wanted to do.
Plan: drive 6000+ miles cross country in our RV, visit 12 national parks on the way, after almost 4 weeks of “glamping” our way across the country arrive at the family ranch (hopefully before our friends do), vacation for 2 weeks in paradise valley, road trip eastward another week, then the girls will all fly home 5 days before school starts, Mat and Murphy will continue the adventure from SD to NH with the company of brave siblings.
Ultimate goal: returning home safely Bonus: with a great appreciation of our country’s landscapes and communities, a satisfied sense of adventure, a feeling of accomplishment that we can do hard things, and some great memories to last a lifetime. Acknowledging that rv-ing is not so easy (think total opposite of a guided, luxurious, 5 star trip that we’ve been lucky enough to experience on more than one occasion) we are stealing inspiration from one of our favorite movies, The Martian, as a reminder that if we continue to learn and solve problems we can accomplish difficult and intimidating goals (like learning how to operate and maintain a tiny home on wheels, navigating our country’s roads in a 31′ motorhome, and surviving 6+ weeks with 2 independent, pre-teen girls and a senior dog in a small space!)
